About us

Background

Join the Journey

We are on a mission to ensure Lisburn City has the strong, independent local media it rightfully deserves. In a time when regional news is often overlooked or replaced by broader national content, we believe Lisburn’s unique identity, stories, and voices must be heard loud and clear.

Like many communities across Northern Ireland, Lisburn thrives on a powerful sense of togetherness — and we believe that deserves a dedicated local radio station, a modern digital news platform, and a space for authentic community storytelling.

What We’re Creating

We’re building something exciting — a multi-platform local media service tailored entirely for Lisburn. This includes:

  • A radio station focused on local life, broadcasting on DAB across Lisburn and Belfast.

  • A digital news and information website offering up-to-date, trusted local reporting.

  • A community-focused local TV platform, giving a visual voice to local people, places, and issues.

Together, these platforms will serve as a vital hub for news, culture, conversation, and connection across the city and surrounding areas.

What You Can Expect

Our goal is simple: to deliver the information and inspiration you need to feel more connected to your city every single day. We’re committed to bringing you:

  • Timely local news, from council decisions to community wins

  • Accurate and relevant weather updates, helping you plan ahead

  • Live traffic and travel reports, keeping you moving on local roads

  • Coverage of local events, so you never miss what’s happening in your area

  • A platform for local voices, including charities, schools, community groups, and cultural organisations

  • Opportunities for local businesses to promote their services and reach new audiences through affordable and effective advertising

More than just a media outlet, this project is about creating a shared space where Lisburn can come together — to inform, inspire, celebrate, and support one another.

Growing Throughout 2025

Behind the scenes, 2025 has been a year of steady growth and groundwork. A lot of effort has gone into sourcing the right contributors, building infrastructure, and preparing the station for long-term success. We’re fully committed to producing high-quality, community-driven radio shows — and this takes time.

A key part of this process is recruiting and training local volunteers. We are actively assessing new presenters and producers, offering the technical guidance and legal knowledge necessary to ensure shows are delivered to a professional standard. As the year progresses, you’ll begin to hear more original, local content on air.

One such show is already on the schedule — join Mark Gibson for the “Mixtape 80s Rewind”, a nostalgia-packed celebration of classic hits and memories from the decade that defined a generation.

Our Launch

We were proud to officially launch the radio station on December 14th at 12 noon, a moment made even more special with the support of Mayor Kurtis Dickson of Lisburn & Castlereagh. You can listen to us now on DAB radio across Lisburn and Belfast, with more ways to tune in coming soon.

How You Can Help

This is a big undertaking — and we’re determined to get it right. We know that local media works best when it’s built by and for the people it serves. That’s why we’re inviting the community to get involved in these early stages.

If you believe Lisburn deserves its own voice — one that reflects the stories, challenges, and triumphs of its people — we’d love your support. Whether you can offer a few hours of your time, professional skills, sponsorship, or simply help spread the word, there’s a place for you in this project.

Let’s Build This Together

Lisburn is a growing, vibrant city with so much to be proud of. Let’s create a media platform that reflects that — one that listens, responds, and celebrates everything that makes this community unique.

Together, we can build a media voice for Lisburn that is trusted, passionate, and truly local.
